Aputure in Photography

IMG_9363.jpgBeckie: For this picture is more in focus than the background and I have used the f stop 5, the exposure time was 1/60 seconds and ISO speed was 100.

IMG_9365.jpg For this picture the background has increasingly more focused and sharp. I have used f stop 9, the exposure time was 1/30 seconds and the ISO stayed the same at 100

IMG_9367.jpgHere the background has an increased effect on the picture than he does. I have used f stop 14, the exposure speed was 1/20 seconds.

By looking at all three of my images I have noticed that every time you have raised the  f stop the more that the exposure speed decreases and also more of the landscape behind the main picture you can see clearer.

  1. Beckie, this is a very promising start to your work for the unit. You are picking up the DSLR camera controls and are making some informed judgements about the effects these have on the image. Your work shows promise and your committment to the process is very positive. I would suggest that you might like to review the guides on Canvas to learn more about the technical terminology we, as photographers use and to perhaps look at the work of other photographers to broaden your understanding of the industry as a whole.
